      Sky's availability checker tells me I have Cable phone

      When I know that I don't. My current ISP, NDO, have issued my MAC and I am trying to migrate to Sky BB. Will I have to phone Sky up or is there another way around this?

      I got that once as well (total rubbish). Try again later today and see if it's OK, if not try tomorrow. If it's still wrong I'm afraid it'll be a phone call to India. It's always worth trying the free number 0800 01512595 first, but I don't think they take broadband orders.

      I had that too when I inquired about a friend's number: it came up with that because the number was not recognised by BT (it hadn't been activated yet) - so it assumed it must be cable.

      Oh yes they do. I used the freefone number last week and ordered Sky Mid via that. Activation takes place on monday.

      thanks for the replies and the number. It seems to recognise the number now so I'll give it a try.
