A service status page would be good. It seems the whole country is affected and still nobody is none the wiser. NOT a way to run a business at all.
Indeed! A service status page is pretty standard for other ISP's. I tried calling the Sky bband helpdesk. The queue length was 75 minutes and none of the announcements gave network status information. Needless to say the clue was in the 75 minute wait but extremely infuriating nonetheless.

same problem here, Rownhams exchange, ok now though.
If sky are unable to warn us in advance of problems like this they could at least put out an announcement on SKY news or teletext.

Just checked, POP email and user portal up and running again, I didn't lose my internet connection though, must be one of the lucky ones. Glad I moved my email onto Gmail.
If Sky can't be bothered to put out service status reports perhaps Sky user could put something on the home page?

You want to make sure your NTL account isn't still active, I just got my BT phone bill and there is 70 of charges for broadband on there when I switched over to Sky on the 12th Nov 2006 and I rang BT at the time to confirm they had ammended the account. I am now at log heads with them cos they reckon there systems say I have been recieving broadband even though they disconnected it in Nov! Why is everything we do these days such a nightmare! I cant tell them to stick there phone line cos I need it for Sky.
