Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

Maybe you managed to downgrade to Mid due to the fact that you are not yet on SkyBB. The impression that I got from more than 1 Sky rep was that as soon as you make the initial connection to the service, thats it - you're locked into that service for 12 months.
And how, may I ask, is this different from many other services? Have you got a mobile phone contract? They won't let you downgrade once you've ordered, at least I've never seen it possible.

      Hi MrMojo,

Believe it or not, I DONT have a mobile phone contract. I have a phone that is supplied by my work. If I didnt have that, then I am not sure whether I would bother having a personal one!

Of course you are right about contracts and downgrading, but I would argue that maybe Sky have not and are not sticking to their side of the contract 100%. Sure, they stipulate "Up to 16mbps", but there is a kind of moral issue here in that they aren't even really providing "Up to 8mbps" at the moment. In reality I am getting approx 4mbps and my connection most certainly is restricted to "Up to 5mbps".

Dont get me wrong, I appreciate that probably all domestic BB ISP's do not guarantee a level of performance, but use the "Up to" clause. In which case, why not advertise "Up to 1Gbps"? That is in no way guaranteeing 1Gbps or anything remotely close to it. In fact the "Up to" bit is a little misleading.
