I am sorry but you will need you router first from Sky as it has embedded user details and password which you will need to activate another router, have a look at the tech forum for more details.

Same thing happened to me, I had to wait 72 hours for the thing to arrive. Incredibly annoying. I then had an error 300 when the damned thing did arrive and ended up without service for 12 days!

The only good thing about the whole sorry saga is that when it was eventually sorted out (you don't want to even know the amount of hassle I went through to get it sorted) the service is now good, better than my old provider.

Hopefully when the box arrives all will be well for you.

Angry Re: missing router settings needed

Ok, i have now calmed down enough to update you all.

The friendly customer service girl pleasently informed me that as i have connected onto the "Connect" service the router is ordered on the day of activation, and that there systems are currently running two days behind, and so she didn't know where my order was upto.

it didn't matter that at no point during my conversation with Sky (sales) did the fact that i would be without service for any number of days came up, infact it is mentioned on Sky's web site that you will be without service for upto 30Mins!!!!!!!

the lovely lady also said that there were separate T&C's for the "connect" service than those available online!! and indeed if i did read them that i would see that this is normal!!!

again it didn't matter that i had paid my 20 fee and provided my MAC code at the same time as ordering (came out of my account the next day!!!) two weeks ago!

i have been mislead by the greedy coniving BAS$%^&S

now to give my teenage daughters the good news...... i wonder if they would like me to be so condersending at them.......
