      Re: Drop in speed today

Prior to three weeks ago my connection was at 3000(ish) I am on the chandlers for exchange. Since then the router reports it has been as 1824(ish). But i am getting very slow download speeds during peak hours and during the weekend (slower than dial up, 10Kbps). I get quite good download speeds after midnight.

I have contacted sky (8th Feb), they ran some tests said an engineer would call me back. They did'nt. I chased them they said the incorrect details were logged for an engineer to call me back. So they said an engineer would call me back logged ticket yesturday 19th Feb.

Seems like loads of us have had drops in connection speed. Has anyone had a fix to this problem yet?

A router reboot sometimes helps, but doesn't seem to last very long.

      Re: Drop in speed today

I checked my exchange status via:

      Exchange Status Checker

Do you think this is what explains the drop in speed?

      Results from search
      -------------------
VP capacity at this exchange is currently showing as Red.
BT is reporting that some of the virtual paths at this exchange are not operating within BT Wholesale's planning guidance, although they are still operating within the product specification.

At busy times, your ADSL connection may operate at a reduced speed, although not all customers on your exchange may be affected. You should only contact support if there is no current ETA date set.

The ETA fix time is: 22 Feb 07

Record last updated: 05 Feb 07
