Thumbs down Very low Speeds - Please help

Today i have just recently moved my router from one of my rooms to the attic. I have been reading about. I have noticed that using your test socket helps the speed however i have the router now connected to an extension.

Before i did this i was getting around 3.5Mb and the router synced at about 4.5mb 4 mb ish.

Now here are my stats they don't mean much to me really.

Im on Sky Connect at the moment, unfortunately when i try speed tests or downloads or xbox live im getting a line speed of about 13.0Kb/s. Its absolutely unbearable.

What i can't understand is that the router is syncing at the speed but is so slow. Even more puzzilng is the fact that the upload test often reaches over 300kb/sec. I was thinking however it could be the extension as it is about 15 years old lol.

I must admit though we never get the 8mb which is annoying mas we only live 500m or so apparently from the exchange. The exchange is the Colinton one in Edinburgh City.

Please could someone help me im pulling my hair out and i have all my clients connected via Lan Ethernet cable.

      Thanks

      John

Re: Very low Speeds - Please help

I have just been on the phone to Sky my speed has stayed the same all day and i have raised a ticket with T3

I used to work for Sky myself so i know what thier like with callbacks. _

Currently im getting 250Kbps but the router is synced at 5460Kbps

      Im really confused

The Upload however is getting 384Kbps roughly

Ideas anyone? Been like this for two days now and at first i was getting 128Kbps A lightyear away from the 6mb i was getting a week ago

      Thanks

I haven't plugged into the master socket - it's in the garage :/ - but I'm getting 7648 / 448 and about 300 - 900 kbps down and 360 - 380 kbps up. V.Not happy. Going to try master socket early next week and phone customer support for the third time.
Sods law says that they will enable your line before they send out your router.......
