Are there any errors on my line?

      Hi.

I redid all of my wiring last night, and lost some of the extensions. My sync speed has been a bit better, but I was wondering if there are still any errors on my line that I can try to do something about. I have my detailed stats, but tbh I can't make hide nor hair of them. So can someone in the know cast their eye over them and tell me if there are any errors?

      Stats below:-

Re: Are there any errors on my line?

      Looking good

You have a small number of errors but they're at a perfectly acceptable level in my opinion - due in some part no doubt to the healthy noise margin your router has. Have you set this high deliberately? If so then that might be sensible as it will of course reduce the error levels. However, that is at the cost of quite a bit of speed.

Might be worth experimenting with a slightly lower noise margin/higher speed and see if the errors start climbing?

Re: Are there any errors on my line?

I haven't altered the noise margin at all. I will have a go at forcing it lower - I'd be interested to see if there is a difference. Obviously a speed boost would be good as well.

Later on tonight I'll force my router to sync with a lower noise margin and check it out tomorrow night. I hope I'll see a difference.

I will post my stats again - I'd be interested to see if it makes any difference to the errors.

Re: Are there any errors on my line?

Hmm - that's curious. If you haven't pushed up your noise margin then I wonder if Sky have capped your speed as well as putting you on G.DMT?

If they have then trying to force the noise margin down either may not work or may have no effect on your connection speed.

If they haven't, do you experience very large variations in your noise margin through the day i.e. did you last sync your router at a time of high noise, meanwhile it has dropped and the margin has risen by 5db (which is a big swing)?
