      Re: Sky speed?

If you post your router stats, I'm sure one of the techies will be able to tell you what kind of speeds to expect. Distance from the exchange would also be useful. Also, what were you getting from your previous ISP.

      Re: Sky speed?

If you are plugged into a telephone extension socket could you also plug your router into your test socket behind the faceplate of your master socket and give us the stats you achieve there also (if you have a split fronted master socket, otherwise just plug into your master socket and give us your results).

      Re: Sky speed?

Looks to me like you have been capped at 8mb by sky. When you can achieve the full 16mb according to your stats. I would get onto sky and ask them why you have been capped. You will probably need to ask to speak to tier 3.

do a speed test here and post your results here:

      Re: Sky speed?

You can guess the potential speed you can achieve by looking at your line attenuation. Take a look at this topic here:

      http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/speed...explained.html

You need to call sky up and ask why your are capped at 8Mb. To get any useful information you will need to ask for tier 3 when you phone them.
