Switch from Sky connect to Broadband

I signed up with sky in Oct 06. I had to go with connect as Broadband was not in my area "Runcorn Main Exchange". Where do i look to find when Sky will upgrade me to the medium package i want. Paying 16.99 at the moment, could do with it coming down to 5

      .................................................. .................

After ferreting about on this site i have found that my exchange was updated 8-2-07. I have been onto sky to register with them that i know it has been updated and expect to be on the mid package within a few weeks, or expect a drop in my payments whilst they keep me waiting.

Re: Switch from Sky connect to Broadband

      Hi

I am on the Runcorn East exchange and that has been enabled too. I have heard nothing from Sky, but when I log into my BT phone account and look at orders, there is a transfer away from the BT line to the LLU line (if that is the correct terminology )

I look at my account on Sky and its still showing a charge of 17 per month. They really are rubbish at giving updates - going to phone them to make sure I will only be paying a tenner this month!!!

Re: Switch from Sky connect to Broadband

According to SamKnows, my exchange (Swinton) was LLU enabled in December last year.

I've rung sky a few times to ask when I would be transferred from Connect and stop paying 17 per month and hav it reduced to 5 on Mid package.

The answer every time has been "we'll send you a letter when we are ready - and keep paying the extra in the meantime"

So far no letter from Sky, but according to BT order checker I have been updated today.

Can't wait to get home and see the improvement

Re: Switch from Sky connect to Broadband

How do I check when my local exchange is going to be LLU'd?

I'm currently in the process of moving my line back to BT (from TalkTalk) so that I can change POTS and ADSL providers. I don't want to sign up for Connect not knowing when my exchange will be upgraded but can't have my ADSL connection down for a long time as I do work and studies from home.

      Thanks in advance
      Duncan

      Hi Headiboy,
I don't know when your exchange will be LLU enabled (If ever).
Here is what samknows is currently showing for your exchange.
      Mac.

As you have said your exchange has been enabled since Feb 07.
I would use the on-line form to tech support to tell them to hurry you along.
Just to rub salt in the wound When I signed up to connect I was given the package at 5 per month since my exchange was due to be enabled in the coming months.
My exchange has since been enabled in June 07 but I am still on the connect product. I have asked when will I be moved several times with no real progress. But since I am not paying full price and cannot achieve more than around 4M anyway then am not too fussed.
      Mac.
