What speed can I expect from the Mid and Max package

      Hi.

Got connected to Sky last week on the base package.

      All is well (so far!).

My question is, what is the maximum speed I can expect with my line statistics?

The connection is stable and I don't have any problems even at busy times.

      Stats are:
      ADSL Link Downstream / Upstream
      Connection Speed 2048 kbps / 416 kbps
      Line Attenuation 43.0 db / 27.0 db
      Noise Margin 20.9 db / 14.0 db

      Many thanks

thats right m8 BASE is 2meg with a 2gig limit for FREE. so thats the max you can get unless you pop your hand in your wallet and splash out 5 for the mid package where you will get 8meg or 10 on the max package where you should get more

Yeah I know I'm capped 'cos I'm on the cheap one but I don't want to swap to the max and only get 6 meg when I could switch to the Mid and get 6 meg and a fivers more beer each month

With my Line Attenuation and Noise Ratio, will I get 16 meg or lower?

Would that mean I COULD get the full 8 Mbps on the MID package?

I have read a lot of people are not ADSL2+ with Sky, does this mean they CAN put me on it but won't?

      q. Would that mean I COULD get the full 8 Mbps on the MID package?

no, they will only put you on normal adsl you should get 4.9 - 5.6

      q. I have read a lot of people are not ADSL2+ with Sky, does this mean they CAN put me on it but won't?

They could put everybody on adsl2+ but only the poeple close to the exchange would get benefit from it.

The best thing you could do is take the mid package if the 40gig download limit is ok and then take a look at your line stats at the higher speeds to see if you would benefit by going to max and asking sky to put you on adsl2+
