      New user Speed Help

      Hi All,

      I have just been got my router and connected up today, and touch wood everthing seems to be working ok. The only problem I have is my connection speed, my line sync is at 4608 but when I run a speed test I only get about 2 meg or less, is this correct? Here are my stats:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 4608 kbps 448 kbps
      Line Attenuation 45.0 db 29.0 db
      Noise Margin 6.6 db 21.0 db

      Well that's strange.

      Your profile says you are on base and the max for base is 2meg, but I would have thought your router would also report 2meg.

      Can you confirm what package you are on?

      You say you have only been connecting yesterday,
      I suggest that you give it a while to stablise, As that is a feature with connect, The SYNC speed doesnt really matter, As that is just a test, If you download a few large files, The exchange will see what you most stable rate is and will re-sync you at that speed!

      It takes a few days for it to finally sort itself out, Also, Using TCPOptimizer on connect doesnt help anything!
