      okay. There may still be some inteference on the extension line.

      If it's easy, take the faceplate off to reveal the BT test socket, plug a dangly filter in there and then the router directly into that (no extensions) and see if that increase your 6Mbish connection closer to the 8Mb.

      BT have already plugged a adsl extension lead in to master socket and that is what my router is connected to (went through all this when unable to connect on 2mb service with f2s). I managed to connect at 4mb on f2s with this connection

      okay, up to you if you dont want to try. But having extensions (incl ADSL extensions) can cause problems.

      If it were me and it was easy to try then I would try. The worse that can happen is that you are in the same position.
