      Just received router!

      Hia,

      Just recieved my router! (came before i left for work which for those who saw my other post - which was a bonus!)

      Line will go acctive next week according to the letter!
      Am i beter doing the initial set up using the ethernet cord rather than the wirelesss adapter?
      i have a 30m cord as my router and computer are far apart so that not a problem!
      also i heard that people have problems when using the CD and MCfee (or something like that) software!
      g
      Just looking for opinions on best way to set upquickly and easily without problems!!

      Chuck.I suggest you first set up only using
      the LAN/Ethernet connection.
      Then let the system settle in.
      Do NOT install the software but view the CD
      and follow the simple instructions on how to connect the router.
      Stop at the point it asks if you want to install McAfee.
      I did this in advance of my activation date
      and everything went smoothly. As soon as I was activated I
      opened my browser and connected to the Internet. Avoid IE7.
      Do not use the Sky portal or let it set Sky.com as the home page.
      I do not use Sky email.

      Cheers guys!

      Followed your advice murdock and got it set up, then last night noticed the 'I' was lit up!

      Tried to conect to net and all worked fine!
      not supposed to be acctive until Monday so was rather imrpessed!!

      everyhting is working fine now!
      Wireless all working too!
      Even managed to get onto Xboxlive as well!!

      Thanks for all the help!
      jsut leave it to settle in for 10 days (i think thats right!) then i will ask about my cennection details!
