Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

      Re: bt wholesale

      ah forgot about that

the reason i wanted to speak to them was:

I want to know where they get there figures from.

i was a tiscali 2 mb customer, tiscali then said i could have up to 8, i checked bt and samknows, both sites confirmed a speed of 6.5 to 8.

i then moved to there 8meg package, but in the end i only got 2meg, i complained, got back a reply from a moderator on there forums stating that bt and samknows state my line can only handle 2meg!!, so i checked and indeed bt and samknows had changed there minds to 2meg.

now since joining sky, bt and samknows now state i can get 6.5 to 8 again (non llu of course) so am i right in thinking that:

bt do not actualy no what your line will handle so they "estimate", then on signing up too an isp - based on the speeds you get from the isp, the isp then updates bt wholesale who then update the webiste to give the customer the estimate?

its just strange that 3 times bt and samknows have given me different estimates, once on before signin up to tiscali 8mb, then on signup they change it back to 2 meg, i leave s**talli and now they change it to 6.5 to 8

or am i talkin ****** lol

      Re: bt wholesale

i am having somewhat of a similar problem. Have you told sky to ring the BT wholesale and find out. What progress if any has been made?
