Can I Disable uPNP and Still Access Sling Box?

      As per title.

I'm having a lot of the usual disconnection problems and was wandering if disabling the uPNP may help, BUT the last time I did this I couldn't access my Sling box remotley. Is there a workaround?

      Thanks

Yes you can but you would have to configure the firewall to allow access with the correct ports

You would need to setup the Services first then activate them in the Firewall Rules.

I think I already have the settings in my router from this guide...

Sling Media - Netgear DG834 Remote Viewing Setup

Would I then need to access via a 'fixed Ip' rather than 'ID Finder' on teh Sling Remote software?

Re: Can I Disable uPNP and Still Access Sling Box?

Ah I see what you mean

Thats quite easy to do goto LAN IP Setup and you will see an option for Address Reservation click Add and you should see your PC in the
Address Reservation Table add that to the table, you can assign any internal IP you want I always set mine to 192.168.0.2 if you have a network you can do the same thing with them as well.

Then just point the firewall rules to that IP

      Good luck.
