When i tried to register bml4564 as my username on sky broadband i was told it had to be changed as someone had already got that name!! It turned out is was me who had the name as a sky.com user. It seems that sky have merged the two systems in some way.

So now, when i log in with the user name that sky gave me on sky braodband, it works on both sky.broadband AND sky.com and in both cases it shows my original bml4564 as an additional user. And just to confuse the issue a little more, the bml4564 still works on sky.com but not sky broadband.

So in brief - if you have not received a user name or password for sky broadband, try using the ones you have from sky.com - it should work.

      Good luck.
You absolute star - that works.........

I have logged into the portal with my sky.com username/password (which I eventually figured out was Sky Broadband - Home) and there is an email box with the same name @sky.com

Sorted, but I still think it was confusing.

perhaps this should be added to a FAQ somewhere?

You see, great minds think alike

Although I can see the resolution is the same, I was thinking more along the lines off... "I have received a letter but there is no user name, what should I do?" and the answer could be.... "Refer to Possible Solution to portal log in failures and see if that helps....

I was not aware of the portal until it was mentioned bml4564
