Question about being moved from Connect to Max

      Hi,

Two nights ago, Sky told me they could move me from Connect to Max within 48 hours. Simply put, is it fair to say that I will know when I've been moved to Max since my router stats will then increase (my Downstream connection speed will go up from 8128kbps etc)?

      Thanks

I don't want to wee on your bonfire but if this happens you will be the first person to have achieved this.

I would assume that they would have to do a migration in a way from BT to LLU

Have you checked on the BT order tracker?

      https://www2.bt.com/btPortal/applica....ordertracking

You will need to register and will need your telephone bill or account number to do so.

Re: Question about being moved from Connect to Max

Thanks for the prompt help as always. I shall have to register on the BT site and look into it then.

I called Sky two nights ago in relation to switching from 17 pounds to 5 pounds pm Connect after seeing that thread in the forum and the guy said I could be moved onto Max at 10 pounds pm in 48 hours. On Saturday I had been told there was no capacity spare in the exchange to go on another package so was surprised he even said I could change package just a few days after that call!

Just looked and the only thing in regards to Broadband is the date of the initial order to activate my line.

Re: Question about being moved from Connect to Max

I would think it was highly unlikely what you were told would happen.

I would also go as far as to say the person who took your call, must have thought you were already on an LLU Sky product hence the timescale.

Could have been confused, new or just wanted to get you off the phone.

Sky have repeatedly told people they will move people off Connect to LLU when they are ready, not when peopl want or expect to be.

Sorry, but I really think you have been mistold information, it will happen, but in their timescale.

Re: Question about being moved from Connect to Max

My dealings with Sky have always been positive with their other products but each time I've called regarding broadband I've been given a different story and it feels like, although they're very polite, maybe some of them don't understand their own BB products and processes... I hope they aren't deliberately misleading people anyway.

I did get the feeling in the call to get my Connect fee reduced to a fiver, that the guy (after talking to his manager) was just coming up with a way of reducing my monthly fee but not putting it to 5 pounds... suggesting 10 pounds and moving to Max in two days did seem strange.

So I'll give them another ring and see if I can get it to a fiver if I'm staying on Connect.

      I appreciate your help.

Re: Question about being moved from Connect to Max

I am not saying it won't happen it just seems strange in such a short time scale.

I would have expected you to be migrated to LLU etc etc

You never know it might happen, but I would not hold my breath. If your exchange has been LLU'ed then there is no reason why you should not get the 5.00 Connect package. Just keep ringing until you do, oh and use the freephone number!

Cheers, will keep at it. Oh and the freephone number is a God send (as is this forum btw)!

Re: Question about being moved from Connect to Max

A follow-up call tonight and I was informed that the person who said I would be moved in 48 hours was simply wrong. On their screen, it does now show I'm on the Max package but the woman tonight said Sky has sent a letter to BT today and that I should expect to be moved from Connect to Max in 7 days, but it might be longer. I've been given a number for the Provisions team which I'm to call in 7 days if I've not been moved. So I guess I'm technically receiving Connect @ 10pm for now - am I the only one? heh

While I was on, I also asked why I had been sent a 54Mbps USb when other people had the WG111T USB and so she said that too was a mistake and I'll now receive the T version and when I do, just to send the other one back as a return - all this at no cost to myself.

Tune in next week for more!

Re: Question about being moved from Connect to Max

Received a letter this morning explaining there is a problem with my Sky BB order and they have been unable to reach me by phone. I guess if they don't actually try calling, this is a true statement! According to the letter, I'm not even online. Oh dear. And the letter they said they sent to BT to get me move over... nothing on my BT Tracker, 7-10 days later.

Should I be able to reach Provision via the freephone number since they continue to give me a different 0870 number?
