Join Sky initially on their Base option. Speeds should not be an issue and neither should distance or other technical problems associated with MID/MAX.

Once on Base - you are allowed to upgrade within the 12 months contract, (but not downgrade if you chose the higher speed packages).

After your LLU connection is up and running give some thought to upgrading. OR you may find the connection acceptable for 0.00/month

Ok i just got the go ahead email myself today, jennifer what you say is ok for a none gamer but for me its a no go.
I will get my mac code and go for it as im paying bt 30 a month for 1 mb for my loyalty.
I will go for the Max as we have 3 pcs on a network and play alot of online games so it well worth the reduction.
Any addvice on how to get good ping ect would be great, also if i go for the max will sky still come out and install it? that way they can sort any issues out ?
      thanks mike

That would be the route that I would take if I ever joined Sky.....test the water first and you can't complain about the service if your not paying anything for it.

      That's true...

You would have to be on max if you're a gamer.

Re: Hi Looking To Move To Sky, But Very Nervous!

Thanks for the responses guys. I do alot of uploading of files, so that is my main reason for moving to sky, increased upload speeds.

One of my mates has just declared he is moving to sky, so I will watch his progress and let you know.

IF I do move i will be going from a std 2mb service to max, so doews this mean I am allready on an LLU service?

Re: Hi Looking To Move To Sky, But Very Nervous!

im looking at swapping to sky but i dont want to shoot myself in the foot like i did when i swapped from AOL to TALKTALK. TALKTALK service was ok at first but then they stopped all p2p and the BB went so slow and a crap service all together. I paid to get out the contract becasue i had enough and went back to aol in a non-term contract because i already had my own wireless router. Do you think sky will ever block the use of p2p programmes such as limewire and bit-torrents?
