      New user here

      Hi there nice site, have been reading a few threads over the last couple of days

      I'm a new user on sky (due to get connected today 23rd) and just have a couple of questions i wonder if someone can help me with?..

      On the BT tracking site, i've got the following:

      Placed 12 Jan 2007
      Description CHANGE
      Appointment No date yet
      Date due 23 Jan 2007
      Status In progress
      Last update 22 Jan 2007
      Notes Your order is in progress.

      Items in this order
      Description Product name Quantity Cost Rental
      PROVIDE LLU LINE SHARE PSTN 1 0.0 0.0

      Is this my Sky line? and if so, i guess i can connect my sky router once this status changes to completed?

      Also, i'm having big problems logging into the skybroadband portal (i've also seen a few threads on this problem before). I noticed that the account should go live on activation day, i know my username, but i didn't recieve my password through the post, so rang up and they sent me a letter with my "new password". This is the one im trying, but the letter states, remeber you can always reset it online at Sky Broadband - Home (so am i using the right password or not ? :S)

      You should be fine to plug ur router in now. it will get a sync as soon as ur connected to sky.

      the portal is a lil bit dodgey. if u login to sky.com in stead of the broadband u can change ur settings in there then it will let you in to the portal.

      So you mean i can go to sky.com log in to my profile there, and do what?

      Hi,

      Thanks for the reply

      I set up a new account, my username was M4TTA so i setup M4TT4, set the password.

      I can log into sky.com with this account (as i can with M4TTA) and i get the following error: You do not have the required permissions to access this service

      is this because my account is not active or?

      i also get the same error with M4TTA

      yes this will be because ur account isnt activated yet.

      my connection suddenly died, and my router started flashing (old kit) i plugged my sky router in and im connected

      excellent, very happy,

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      8096 kbps 416 kbps
      Line Attenuation 23.0 db 17.0 db
      Noise Margin 16.2 db 13.0 db

      still cant log in to the portal though
