Force 9

I was with F9:

ISP - Force 9
Speed - 2Mb
Monthly cost - £22/month
Sky Package - Mid
Speed - 8Mb on router/just over 6Mb by testing (can't remember how I di it)
Quality of service compared to previous - I'd say better, there are slow times but I used to get those with F9.

Re: Previous ISP - Before and after joining Sky Broadband

ISP - Orange (wanadoo)
Speed - 2mb
Monthly cost - £15
Sky Package - Mid
Speed - 7mbps+
Quality of service compared to previous - Worse*

*a couple of problems that can be resolved or worked around though i feel i shouldnt have to do that.

other than that, excellent value and useful support forum although 'unofficial'. quick delivery, and went online exactly on the date.

Re: Previous ISP

ISP - Pipex Max
Speed - Upto 8Mb/s (got 6Mb/s)
Monthly cost - £24
Sky Package - Connect
Speed - 7 Mb/s MOVED HOUSE AS WELL THOUGH!
Quality of service compared to previous - Same

I moved so the speeds are not comparable, previous exchange did not have Sky. The only advantage of my previous ISP was that I had a fixed IP.

Re: Previous ISP - Before and after joining Sky Broadband

ISP - ntlworld
Speed - 0.5 MB
Monthly cost - £25 including free anytime calls
Sky Package - Max (only because I don't want to bother with DL limits)
Speed - 1.9 MB
Quality of service compared to previous - Better

BT have always told me my line is only capable of 0.5 MB. My speed with sky is almost 4 times this (and it's rock solid too).

As someone who was told that they were too far from the exchange to receive ADSL when it was first introduced (> 63db attenuation), I am very pleased with this.
