      ISP - Nildram LLU
Speed - was synching at 4288 with many dropouts, I rewired before the move to Sky, with an adsl splitter master socket faceplate and got 7424 stable for 2 days at a time
      Monthly cost - 25

      Sky Package - Mid
Speed - 8096 stable for 63 hours so far and speedtests improved by half a meg too
Quality of service compared to previous - Better - nildram dns lookup was flaky from time to time.
Nildram LLU support (equivalent to tier 3) is only 9-5pm weekdays

      Edit:
All ISPs go through bad patches with support, especially when they grow fast. I was with Nildram since before the Pipex takeover - six years and saw this with them too. Sky had 250,000 in Feb 2007 and 750,000 now, so I am not surprised to hear of issues. The size of Sky gives them the opportunity to put together a well managed solution going forward and the price is a compensation! Having said that I have no issues myself as my migration was handled without fault and the speed and usability at the moment is better than my old ISP provided.

Re: Previous ISP - Before and after joining Sky Broadband

      ISP - Pipex
      Speed - 2.2
      Monthly cost - 14.99
      Sky Package -Max
      Speed - 3.5 / 3 / 2.9 / 2.5
Quality of service compared to previous - Worse = due to the fact that I havent had a stable connection yet, with a shed load of cash being paid for tech support through phone. Hope new router sorts it out or I wont be happy.

      Old ISP - Orange
      Speed - 2.2MBS (1.9)
      Cost - 17.99pm
      Sky - Base
      Speed - 2mbs (1.75)
Quality - so far much better, but less than 1 week experience, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper.
