Is anyone actually 'live' using Sky BB?

      Hi All,

Just ordered today and browsing around this forum. Couldn't seem to find anyone that was actually up and running with SkyBB. Maybe it's all a big trick and sky are just fishing for tenners!

So who is actually live? And what's it like!? P2P throttling, newsgroups, email etc.

      Ta!

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

      Did I hear my name?

      Yes I am live...

      Install was a breeze.

I was able to log into my email no problem, I am gonna set it up on Thunderbird later, I had just replaced my pc before switching so had not yet bothered installing it.

p2p seems fine so far, I even hooked up my BY 10 meg connection for comparision and got the same speeds. So it was maxing out the torrent.

I have dropped a significant amount of speed compared to my cable connection, but I expected that.

No clue regardong newsgroups yet. Sorry.

I was live from the 23rd Aug.
P2P is fine, web browsing is fine.
Speeds are good for my line length.
      Sky don't supply newsgroup access.
Never use ISP emails, but I have done a guide on setting up.

Sorry Hugsie, not quite sure I understand what you're saying. You got the same torrent speed on BY but overall less fast comparing sky to BY?

The torrents I was running were maxed out by both connections, but they went no where near 10 meg speed wise. the torrent was maxed not the connection. Does that help?

Thanks hugsie, that makes sense. So what's the max speed you've had out of Sky BB downloading from a website rather than a torrent? How does that compare to BY?

yup. another one live today on Mid. Migration (from pipex) was easy.
Speed seems as advertised. Haven't played with p2p yet.
