Moving House, Joining Sky Broadband as New Customer

I am Moving House soon and want to Join Sky Broadband as a New Customer.

What do I need to do before I move?

Can I order my Sky Broadband as soon as contracts are exchanged? Is there a legal time restriction?

Any advice would be of real help.

You can order Sky Broadband when ever you want, it really is up to you. Personally I would wait until you have at least got a date when you are actually going to move into your new house just incase there is some last minute delay.

Re: Moving House, Joining Sky Broadband as New Customer

There has been a few members who have changed addresses and their experience of trying to get their broadband moved to the new address has been pretty horrendous.

One guy moved house but was still in the same exchange area and sky still had to cancel his account, rather than move the service from one pair on the Exchange MDF to another pair servicing his new home.

I would wait until you have moved house before ordering Sky Broadband.

A BT line and a Sky subscription at the address you want the BB service for i.e. I doubt you can do it prior to moving.

      Thanks for the help.

So what you are saying is that I need my Sky+ and Satellite Dish installed at my new address before I can order Sky Broadband?

      Welcome to the site James

As you are already a Sky customer you can cal them and ask them the best way to go about it but I would imagine that all the details Sky hold on you would first need to be for the new address and the sky system installed before they would accept an order for SkyBB.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.
