      Re: New Connection Advice

My old router was on at the time I got connected to Sky, it just would not connect, changed to the Sky one and connected straight away.

Do whatever you feel happy with.

      Re: New Connection Advice

It shouldn't do any damage either way

Roll on bb - miles better than dialup - good luck!

      Re: New Connection Advice

I agree and it will not affect your dial up connection.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

Mine was activated just after midnight so you may find it's on in about an hour.

      Re: New Connection Advice

Well my Max connection finally went live today, just got a couple of queries and questions. Here are my line stats
      System Up Time 20:26:04
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 337451 631052 0 2839 113135 02:15:49
      LAN 10M/100M 646856 347992 0 12932 434 20:26:02
      WLAN 11M/54M 280405 155741 0 5580 177 20:25:52

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 15323 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 10.0 db 6.3 db
      Noise Margin 17.1 db

I live 100 metres from my exchange which im told is unbundled but im only seeing the best of 8mb download speed do you think that is the best I can expect or should i be getting better speeds. If so how can I improve my speed after reading this forum I wondered if my connection has been capped
if so how do i get it uncapped ? Also I cant seem to get on the portal login page. All help on these queries most apprciated.
