      Moving from BT to Sky

I'm in the process of moving from BT to Sky. I got a MAC code from BT and placed the order with Sky last Friday. I have had a user id and password sent to me by Sky.

I have seen postings from others moving from BT to Sky, and they have talked about tracking their move on the BT website. Can someone point me at where to go for this on the BT site please. I have searched but can't find it.

I have been told in another post ....

"BT Checker Order tracking: Landline orders You will need to register if you don't already have an account."

However when I do this it says

"You have no open orders against this account."

Should I be worrying about this...

      Thanks,
      Roy

      Hi Roy

      https://www2.bt.com/btPortal/applica....ordertracking

Is the site, you will need to register an account so will need your BT bill handy.

On there, there should be an order against your account. Let us know if you have already registered or not, and if you have there is no order showing.

Yes - I already have an account and it says ...

"You have no open orders against this account."

      Many thanks for your help.

Hmm.. so what would trigger something showing up?

Me asking for a MAC code? Or some communication from Sky to BT?

      Many thanks for your help,

Re: Moving from BT to Sky

An order would normally trigger it off (from Sky to BT)

See if your router comes through, as they usually only send these once the order has been accepted by BT.

It could always be that BT have not updated their tracker so to speak.

Re: Moving from BT to Sky

      Hmm..

We had a letter last yesterday from Sky re User Name and password.

I wonder if there is a problem because the BT account is in my name and the Sky account is in my wifes name. Sky had no problem talking to me when I placed the order and said it was nothing to worry about.

      Thanks,
      Roy

Re: Moving from BT to Sky

I would not worry to much, the fact you got your username and password is a good sign.

Keep checking the order checker and if no order turns up by say 4pm tomorrow give Sky a nudge, I mean ring

Re: Moving from BT to Sky

My order tracking page goes way back to the day BT connected me so you should at least have old orders showing up. I do get "there are no orders" on BT.com>account>track orders BUT on https://www2.bt.com/btPortal/framewo....ordertracking

gives the orders - this is the small & med business site

Re: Moving from BT to Sky

I'm in a similar situation, I ordered Connect on 13th January, and I've received a letter from Sky with my Username & Password etc.

Still no sign of the router, and the BT order website isn't showing any planned changes either???

A further complication is that the order website is showing the following lines for my existing Tiscali broadband:

PROVIDE LLU LINE SHARE PSTN 1 0.0 0.0
      CEASE BT DATASTREAM MAX 1 0.0 0.0

I have checked Samknows, and there isn't any LLU Tiscali kit in my exchange. I have also posted on the the Tiscali technical forum, and I've been told that my line is still Datastream by Tiscali technical support staff. I've posted back asking what the order actually means, but I've not heard back yet... The Sky Broadband website also checks that your line isn't LLU, so I don't know what's going on!

I'm hoping that this "order" isn't holding things up with Sky, I think I'll call them up in the middle of the week to see how things are progressing!
