When you say a cable fault, does that mean with the phone line, or just ethernet cables etc? I dont think its my ethernet cable as the problem also occurs on the wireless connections - when my connection goes down (ethernet connection) so do the wireless ones - and I cannot enter the admin section on the router via the wireless connections either.

Can't hurt to try. If it is a UPnP problem then the symptoms are unusual - that doesn't mean that it's not though.

Log into your router, untick UPnP then reboot the router, then the PC.

I don't think it's a cable fault. I do think it is a faulty router (if not UPnP).

OK, I will untick the UPnP settings etc and see how my connection is for the next few days. Hopefully it will sort it out ;-)

If not i'll report back towards the end of the week.
