      Just getting Sky, Please help

      Hi Everyone

Hoping someone can help me, I last week telephoned AOL to cancel and get a MAC Code.... this was a challenge in itself as the AOL Indian call centre did all they could to say I couldnt cancel as i was still in contract. I told them I wished to cancel due to the new T&C and they kept telling me I had no right to cancel under UK law as they are not a UK Company and if i tried to I would be billed for the remaining term and the router!! One (of the many) reasons Im glad to be leaving AOL !!!!

Anyway, I passed the MAC Code to Sky who I have to say seem to be really efficient and polite so far... my letter has come with my username@sky.com, my very nice looking sky wireless box has come and a letter has come saying I am going live on the 15th although please allow 3 extra days.

My question, which I hope isnt too stupid, is what do I do now! As you can probably tell my AOL connection still seems to be working fine... will this suddenly stop and thats the time to open my Sky router and follow the instructions, or do I just plug the Sky router in on the 15th? I dont know if Sky will be sending me any more letters, I was just wondering what to do as I have all this kit and not sure what to do!

      Thanks in advance

      Jon

Oh yes, nearly forgot, I read somewhere that Ebay and Hotmail dont work on Sky.. is this true?!

Go to this site and register an account and check your orders and then post the details, excluding any personal data

I think most sites work now as I haven't come across to many that I can not access apart from sites that have been taken off line by their respective webmasters.

Your AOL connection should stop working, plug your Sky router into your phone line, and the other lead into your NIC / network card / ethernet port of your PC.

I would uninstall the AOL software and you should be good to go, if you get stuck ask on here

Have to say though, whilst I cant comment on Skys speed or reliability as Im not live yet, the customer service and efficiency has been 100% so far! I might be speaking too soon but they seem to get a bad press too often
