      Re: Why has line att. gone up

      With a small nod to Fibre as yes the attenuation will change when measured by the same router between different ADSL modes, Wheelie's right as Fibre should have realised that this probably isn't the explanation of the change pjclews has seen (especially as we're talking about a move from UKOnline LLU to Sky LLU - both Easynet)

      The big difference is almost certainly due to the fact that the attenuation was measured with two different routers.

      There is no standard that applies to all routers. An attenuation measured at 40db by one could easily be 45db measured by another on the same line with the same ADSL mode.

      @nobby

      It was my understanding that all Sky LLU products (Base, Mid and Max) were ADSL2+. However, Sky seem to be having trouble providing ADSL2+ connections to some Max customers so who knows what they are currently doing. I haven't seen an authoritative statement on this yet.

      Were it me I'd certainly put all my LLU customers on ADSL2+ as it would make the support so much easier/consistent. I'd be surprised if that wasn't Sky's aim.

      Re: Why has line att. gone up

      The packages move from ADSL upto ADSL2+ depending on the package supplied but I believe this can be regulated by SkyBB remotely.

      I am trying to get more info on this and as to why so many Max users are being put on G.DMT instead of ADSL2+ and hope to be able to post a sticky about this sooner rather than later.

      Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.
