      Secure Sites Advice Needed

      Hi,

I'm a newbie here so apologies if this problem has already been covered before now.

I can access most sites that I want to but am unable to access any secure sites (Banking, Amazon, Paypal etc) which is very frustrating.

I spoke with Sky recently and all they could say is it's a problem they are aware of but didn't know when it would be fixed. I would therefore like to ask if anyone can please offer any advice on possible things I can try to allow access to secure sites.

      Many thanks

      Niall71

      Hi

Have you got McAfee antivirus installed?

If so try disabling it and then try a secure site, just to confirm.

      Hi,

Yes, meant to say I've tried disabling my Mcafee Antivirus but hasn't made any difference either.

      Thanks

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

      Re: Secure Sites Advice Needed

      Hi Niall

I had a similar problem. The issue I had was with the McAfee Privacy Service component of the security suite.

      Open up the security centre

Go into privacy service then user accounts

click on the relevant user and click edit.

click on the cookies tab and check it is not set to reject all cookies. Mine was and when I changed this to prompt user to accept cookies and accepted cookies from the sites I was trying to get into then it worked.

      Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried both of the above but still no joy unfortunately. If anyone else has any ideas I can try please let me know.

      Thanks again.

      Re: Secure Sites Advice Needed

After a few problems I uninstalled macafee, and am now using windows firewall and NODF32 as virus scanner, (c cleaner for junk and x soft spy) and and I now have no problems with odd macafee messages and odd restrictions to sites, and email messages that the security suite would not let me send.
