      Big problem with Sky broadband - never received any service

      Hi all,

      We applied for Sky broadband Mid in August 2006 and our line was activated in October 2006. However we have NEVER had broadband at all!

      We keep phoning Sky and they keep saying that there's a fault with the local exchange but all the checking sites I've found on the internet say that it's OK. We've been patiently waiting and waiting and they still say that we should keep waiting but it's just getting annoying now.

      Is there anything that we can do? Can we cancel? What should we do? I've contacted Sky by phone and email many many times but the only answer I ever get is 'keep waiting' It just can't be right!!!

      I really don't know what else to do so any suggestions would be extremely gratefully received!

      If you've never been connected then you are entitled to cancel but at the end of the it's upto you.

      Hi Karen.

      If you read a few of the threads in this section of the forum you will see that there are a few of us in exactly the same boat as you.

      Firstly have you been given a ticket number by Sky Technical Support? Without this you will get nowhere. If you have, speak to Sky Customer Relations & explain the whole situation to them, ask them liaise with Sky escalated technical department for you to find out exactly what the present situation is.

      Another important thing to bear in mind is that as far as the Sky billing department is concerned you are being provided with an operational broadband connection & as such YOU WILL be getting billed for it. Check your direct debits to confirm & then speak with customer support to get any monies you've paid credited back to you.

      Most likely the problem will be related to "Tie Pairs" not being connected or connected incorrectly in the exchange, for whatever reason (probably until they have more customers to connect in your exchange) Sky / Easynet drag there heals in resolving this problem

      I hope this helps a little, good luck & keep pestering Sky until you get an answer
