Knew i'd made a mistake.. but we'll see...

Hi everyone. I'm new to the whole forum malarky.. so bear with me. Anyone had any issues with Derby Exchange and their activation???
I've received some excellent customer service and tech support- mind you they didn't really do much after I'd done it all for them. Was meant to be activated last week and apparently there's some wiring faults at the exchange. Not their fault but BT's ...again (yep i've been through this sort of thing before!) But I've just been on to Billing at about it and in no time at all they understood the situation and when it does get activated i've got a discount on my bill.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

      Cheers for the welcome.
Its just a little frustrating at the moment as I know how to find the fault, what to do and who to contact to get it fixed.

I think you will have to rely on Sky to have it sorted out there is no direct route other than an ISP

Anyone been lucky to get their line activated before the date mentioned in their letter?

Not that I'm being overly optimistic, but I know in some of the paperwork, they mentioned plugging in the router as those who opted for self installation may find thier lines active earlier that reported - strange

I'm due to be activated today although i am not giving it much chance that it will happen today, I think it will be more like the 6th, although i called today again and they said that there was no problem on my account to stop it going through, yet BT were being slow in activating accounts.

wu shh, you've still not answered my question. Have you checked your activation date yourself?

why don't you just check your own activation date online?http://www2.bt.com/btPortal/applicat...teArea=btb.bot

here you can see all orderson your line and the completion date.

click 'track your landline order' you may need 2 make an account and input your bt phone line account phone and account number. Then you can see all orders and their status

      Thanks for the link.

I used my BT online account details to login and lo and behold it worked.

      Here are my order details:

Order ref Placed Description We can do this on: We agreed to deliver by:

      PPB995SM 30 Aug 2006 CHANGE 12 Sep 2006 12 Sep 2006 View detail
      PPD146SM 30 Aug 2006 CHANGE 07 Sep 2006 07 Sep 2006 View detail

Received a letter from Sky that the line is should be active by 7/9/06.
