      sky bb dns settings

      hi there

      I have entered the sky dns settings as 87.86.189.16

      but every time sky changes my IP I have to restart my machine

      any other dns settings to use

      Could you run CMD from the start menu - run.
      Type in ipconfig /all
      And tell me what you have in the Ethernet Local Area Connection part.
      It should tell you, your local IP Address, your subnet mask, your DNS servers and your default gateway settings.

      I have manually entered my ip address in tcp/ip properties,

      subnet mask from the ip address

      default gateway is my routers IP address

      and found somewhere that the dns settings were as posted above, there is no alternate dns setting

      hence the reason I am thinking this is wrong

      well I thought had fixed this but no joy

      used the open dns setting made things quicker but everytime Sky changed my IP it didnt pick up a new one

      also spoke to a Sky engineer and he said to try the following

      212.135.1.36
      195.40.1.36

      but again still did not sort out the problem,

      anymore ideas please
