      Sky Connect

Hello all, firstly let me apologise in advance if this is in the wrong place,I need to know what the Connect package is like.I am currently with AOL Platinum (upto 8mb) and want to change before the end of January when their new terms and conditions start.I have been told the Sky packages are not available in my area yet but I can have Connect and as soon as Sky reaches me they will swap me over.Has anyone done this?Is anyone using Connect?Having read so many posts, good and bad,I'm wondering if I should make the move or not!All info and help will be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

      Re: Sky Connect

I am on the Connect package and it is fine and I am glad I have moved away from BT as I am saving loads. The only slight problem is that every so often especially in the evening it can take a few minutes to load a page up but other than that it is fine and I have no major problems with it.

      Re: Sky Connect

Hi I signed up to sky just before xmas was on AOL 2mb and paying 19.99 had a bit of trouble getting router from sky only waited 5 days after line was taken over so not a hardship ( made a couple of calls to sky to get it ).

Connect on sky is great 8mb line for only 17 a month can't fault it.( downloading abt 6mb thats on speed tests)

if you have been with aol a year you don't have to sign up for another year just pay monthly like i did also get mac code just after you paid for another month with aol so it gave sky time to get things to you ( hopefully within a month )

      Hope this helps

      Re: Sky Connect

      Hi again

I play BHD shoot em up online, with my aol account 2mb was getting pings on some servers of 15ms even with my 8mb line with sky i'm still getting the same ping on same severs.
I play mostly on usa servers it might be because aol are from states i don't know.

      Re: Sky Connect

Thanks again sparkey,I mainly play Call Of Duty:United Offensive (old game I know but I love it!) and my ping at the moment on AOL 8mb is usually 40-50 so I don't think Sky will be any worse.I would really like to know when Sky Max will be available in my area.

      Re: Sky Connect

Connect is arguably one of the better packages, even though it has a higher price. Connect disconnects and downtimes are considerably lower than any of the main packages, this is mainly due to the fact Connect is run on a different type of connection than the others. Sky's main packages are LLU types, wherease the connect package is ipstreammax i believe.

I've had connect for four months now, and i am yet to have any complaints.
I download all the time, i play alot of games, everythings good.
