By trying the master socket, you have pretty much ruled out your wiring, the only thing you could try is:

      1) The test socket

      2) Unplug all phones and Sky box

See if any better that way, apart from that I am all out of ideas.

Post Re: Sky BB Max User low connection speed why?

      hi again,

      i finally fixed my connection..

what happened was from the master socket (which was old) the connections of the extension cables were connected to the screws which connects parallel with the cable from outside..

i took the extension cable out from the screws and connect them to number 2and number 5.

after restarting my modem my connection went up to 7215 kbps from 2952 kbps..

      My sky tier 3 experince:

after doing this i phoned up sky and connected to tier 3 after waiting 50 mins.

the guy on the phone tried to solve it so i can get full out of max package but he said to me that i can get up to 7mbps so he capped it (also my up stream went down from 764 to 416). he said i won't get disconnects anymore which i never get any disconnections luckly. i didn't accept it and told him if he can set the settings where it was before and he did it.

i think i am happy for now..

but the thing i am trying to know the exact reason is:

when i check my exchange web sites says i am 1.4km away from exchange which i should get 16mbps..

but my stats show my Line Attenuation 47.5 db.. which is about 3.7km.

what could be the problem? or is my line not connected to the exchange straight away?

      thanks for your help..

my stats at the moment : 01:00 25/jan/06

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6281 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 47.5 db 29.2 db
Noise Margin 6.7 db 11.5 db
