      Smile poor Download speeds

      hello people
i have had my broadband sice dec 7th 06 and since i recived it my downloads speds have been so poor that they are unbarable to download. i have been trying to download using Bitlord v1.1 but i was getting an average of 5kbps. Then my son uses rapidshare to download files between friends and it was download at around 20 kbps. Can anyone please help me with this problem as sky are as good at me i hae probably spent over £40 on the phone to them with no luck. If someone can please help me i would be so grateful. I checked how far i was away from the exchange center and it came back at

""You are on the Falkirk exchange. You are around 1.78 kilometres from your exchange (as the crow flies).""

Here are the noise levels etc.

thanks in advance to whoever helps me

      • You should be able to download at 240kB/s or 0.23mB/s based on your sync speed
      • Speeds from BitLord or any other "P2P" app isnt gaurenteed! Based that you are on Connect and with its "SUPPOSED" P2P Traffic Management, You wont be able to get close to maxing your connection with it!
      • Have you forwarded the ports for BitLord for a slightly higher speed?
      • Have you tried the BT Mastersockets Test Socket? See what it syncs at then? http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/view-master.html
      • What speed do you get on BT Openworld

Bitlord v1.1 is a P2P program that works with BitTorrent. As a result your download speeds will always be limited by your connection to other peers. Have you looked at the forum pages for Bitlord and opened up the ports in the router that they suggest?
