I had the same prob I also pay for the line through the post office. Sky cancelled my order and started again I now have a line activation date of 11.11.06. sky told me to phone BT but that's a waste of time as in this case you are not the customer sky are so BT wont tell you anything.

Bad news James, however i am impressed with your patience and understanding.

What i am impressed with is the fact that people seem to be able to accept that this new venture will take time to perfect, yet all the members and unregistered people aint using this forum as a dumping ground.

I have to say that this forum is definitely an excellent resource for all of us to get a well rounded view of how every ones experience is and I have been very impressed with the helpful and positive attitude of all the postings.

On the other hand I've almost given up on reading the Sky Broadband forum over on Digital Spy forum....I have never heard a bigger bunch of "I want it now" "it's rubbish" blah, blah, blah! I can understand peoples frustration but the general tone on DS is a bunch of posters who seem un-willing to help themselves by seeking advice and supplying relevant info and just moan, whinge and "throw all their toys out of the cot".

God damn, if I ain't just lowered the whole tone of this site by "dumping" my negative sentiments on this thread.

I got fed up with one poster on DS that I had to report him with the alert button. This is the first time I've had to use this facility

I know exactly who you mean - they really did go on and on but never provided any details that may have allowed others to help their situation just did the "it's rubbish" line.

I'm amazed. Thought I'd give Sky a phone and see how my second order was coming along. They informed me all was well and my activation date is the 13th, which is 6 days away. Seems odd how I had so many problems with the first order though. Hopefully the router will arrive in time.

This is getting better. The day after my activation letter arrived Sky phoned me to say that because of the delay in sending out the router they were going to credit my account with 5 (1 months charge) and send out the router next day saturday delivery. Sure enough saturday morning it arrived. Hopefully I'll be activated tomorrow (13th) as well.

I'M ON!! Came home from work today and I've been connected up to sky. All seems ok at the mo. Connection speeds are: up 8190 and down 385. I've gone for the mid package.
Tried to use the mail.sky.com for my smtp server, seems to accept mail but not delivered.
