      Gradually getting worse?

I have now been on Sky for a few weeks and gradually the connection speeds are getting worse and worse.

      I am now:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 1792 kbps 576 kbps
Line Attenuation 15.5 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 6.3 db 7.0 db

For something that is supposed to be 12Mbps this is pretty unimpressive.

I tried searching the forums to see what Line Attenuation and Noise Margin mean but couldn't find anything. Can anyone tell me if mine are bad or not?

http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/speed...explained.html - Not very well hidden

Your attenuation is almost certainly not 15.5db as this is a known router bug (with an upstream attenuation of 31.5db your downstream attenuation is probably something around 50db+). Have you tried rebooting the router? If this doesn't help reset it via the pinhole reset button on the back. You may also find that a reboot/reset also fixes your apparent speed issues. In any event if your attenuation is as high as I think it is (Hornet hasn't spotted the 15.5/31.5 anomaly in your stats so forget the DSLZone figure) then you will never get anywhere near the high speed you may be hoping for.

When you've had a look through the above and maybe a few other stickies in the forum, post back if you need more help.
