Activated but no router plzz help

Hi, my mum ordered sky broadband in October, she has been activated since November, but they keep telling her they will send a modem out, but none ever arrives. Shes been told that the reason it's not been sent out, is due to a data fix, (which is where the billing comps isn't matched up to the order status comps? correct me if i'm wrong) but this same story has been going on for weeks, and no1 ever seems to do anything to resolve it.
Can anything be done about it? Could she use another modem in the mean time? as she has been given her username and password. Is there some registration page that she will have to go to like cable providers do?

Nope, if you wanted to use your own router, you would need the Sky router first to extract the username and password to input on your own router.

as she has been given her username and password.
This is for the portal login not the router

Ok thanks for the reply. Do you know how long data fixes tend to take to get fixed? Would she be better off cancelling and re-ordering, or will she end up with the same problem?
It all started cos they said she had a dax on her line, and she received a letter from sky saying it got cancelled (but it hadn't got cancelled cos the order was still active). Sky then requested BT to remove it, and sky said the sky markers would have to be removed. Later BT replied saying there wasn't a dax and then sky still kept saying about a cease. Later they said they didn't need to cease the line and everything would be ok. She then got activated and had then had the problems with the datafix which results in no modem being sent out.
