Have rang sky after 25 mins got through, the lady was very polite but just said leave router off for half hour and then try again , did as she said but with no luck.
Rang again talk to a man who went through the normal script ie reboot router , reboot your machine, log on 192.168.0.1 etc etc for about half hour . Eventually he got to the end of his diagnostic scrip he said well there is nothing I can do I will make a note on your profile and Tier3 will contact you in 3 to 5 days.
I have read many horror stories about tier3 call back here on this forum ….. do they ever call back!!!!
Please could some one who may have had a similar connection problem like to shed some light on this ……. Does this seem to point to router fault, BT fault, or as I suspect sky fault.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance…

hi my activation date was yesterday, set up router ,all lights were on looked fine but like yourself no actual internet access...rang up they said it can take up to 12 pm that nite and to wait,in he meantime i went in to my control panel-internet options-network connections..clicked on properties of my connection and for some reason there was a few unticked boxes for tcp/ip etc so i ticked them and hey presto...worked straight after...maybe it was just on my settings....good luck.

      We have Internet now !!!!!!!

After going through the forum and reading about possible different resolution to this issue of no IP ie error code 300.
Rang sky and got through in 2 mins. A very nice lady tried to get me to go through her script again but after insisting that I have gone through that already she said she will listen to me. I explained that I need to speak to technical person who can check my phone line etc.to narrow down the possibility of fault.
She said well you will have to wait for tier 3 to contact you in 3- 5 days.
But after being polite and very nice to her by saying "pretty please etc" she said she will put me through to Tier 3 if I was prepared to wait for about 5 mins....
well after about 8 mins I got to extremely helpful Tier3 man who checked my line and did all the test etc and said well I have fixed it. what a miracle man!!!!
I did ask him to tell me what the problem was but he just said there was some synchronisation issue at BT exchange which he has set correctly now.

Very happy now …..thank you sky….. hope it lasts !!!!!

Had the same problem, error code 300. Was told it was a tech problem at the exchange.

This was my story:After lots of phone calls, had sms from sky on the 18/12 saying (connection was now active enjoy, have fun.) It was'nt !! I logged in and all I could get was error code 300. Phoned tech support and went through the settings, it did'nt alter anything so was told I would get a phone call back within 5 days, I didnt. After 8 days I rang them and was eventually put through to tier 3 who logged in to the exchange and said they could see the problem, it was fixed in 2 minutes. GREAT I thought, but it only stayed connected for about an hour. So phoned tech supp. again who said they could not put me through to tier 3 and I would get a call back in 5 days
Well that was it! I was fed up with talking to and trying to understand India anyway, so I refused to be put off after waiting 12 days without a connection. All they would say is they have procedures to follow. After 50 mins. I spoke to customer service who said tier 3 would call me back that night. They didnt, but I logged in 2 hours later and found I was connected. That was 2 days ago and all is well. I hope it lasts.

      And to SKY
