I think we have all been conned on the Connect package as I was told the same thing a few weeks ago and I posted on here about it.

I think Sky should be offering us the Connect package at the same price as Mid as clearly it ain't our problem they can't shift us for whatever reason so why are we being punished.

My exchange was enabled at the beginning of November and still nothing on the "automatic" move front.

We should bombard Murdoch's email address, I for one will be doing so.

Merry Xmas to everyone except Sky!

I don't think that would be fair, every communication I have had has never stated any time period of changing from Connect to Max.

If you look at it from a business point of view, Sky would be crazy doing that. If they have you on Connect they hardly make any money anyway. They have to rent the port off BT at approx 10.00 per month.

How many other ISP's offer up to 8MB for 17.00 with a 40gb download allowance, very few. Connect is there to appeal to a wider audience, and for those who cannot get any of the other packages to get onboard with Sky.

If it was your business, would you do it? or would you take the 10.00 a month as well off customers on your own network first?

I think they could have done things better, but give them a chance. I could have gone on Connect 4 months ago, but I waited it out, as the 40.00 connection charge was present. Luckily my exchange has now been enabled and I should get Max soon.

Even paying my old ISP 24.00 a month for the same as the Connect package, was cheaper than changing to Sky for 4 months, ie I am 12.00 better off.

If you are on Connect, and waiting to change, try and be patient, the time will come

My exchange was bundled early November, but they were not signing up new customers onto LLU until Mid December. You may have to wait a while yet.

I just got off the phone to Sky and I rang them twice to make sure I spoke to 2 different staff members and both said the following: That sky will actually email me when they are ready to move me over as they don't want a huge number of people moving onto the new packages at the same time as it will crash. So when it's my turn to move over they will let me know, hope it doesn't take too long.
Also the lady I spoke to said that I will be given credit as my exchange was bundled on the 21st dec so for the period until I transfer over they will reorganize the fee i have to pay for connect and not the whole 17, which was nice of them.

      That sounds interesting.

I will give them a call after the holidays then asn see what they say to me as this sounds like a good will gesture as no credits made on my account to reflect that. Perhaps they are only doing this to the observant folks who actually notice these things and not to the masses.

I was not trying to sound negative in my earlier posting, I would have thought that since it's been 2 months since my exchange was unbundled something would have been done by now instead of what appears to be a lack of process from Sky.

I suppose as a little bit of consolation to myself I am now enjoying 2.5Mbps speeds which is way more then I thought my line would ever take, wonder if thats the Speedtouch 585 I have helping me out there.

I'll give them a call next week after the Xmas and see what the story is buut thanks for the info Gurvy.

Rang sky again they still said there is a delay in transferring users to the new packages, but did say should be sorted out by the end of the month. Until i do get transferred sky have said that I will be billed 10 a month rather than the 17 until it happens. They are even goona back date it to the 21st Dec when my exchange was enabled.

      Hope its soon!!!

      Re: From Connect to MAX

Well I'm still here, and still on Connect. I've been told various things by different people when I have rung. I have just about accepted that I am in the hands of Sky.

Fair play to them though, I am paying for Max rather than connect due to the delay.

I am going to take NewsreadeRs advice and be patient. I've got more important things to worry about. The main thing is I can access the Internet, which is more than a lot of people.

Hopefully I will be switched in time. Good luck to everyone else who's waiting as well!
