On your last point, i also agree. It was random + intermittent.

This is the very same issue known to have been caused by the Sky DNS

I also had that problem.I also used the free mcafee.Have found that if you disable the privacy service,I can get into all the sites that I need to use a password for.Am going to get rid of it and go back to AVG.

Guys, you have just saved my life!!
My Sky Broadband was activated today and I have spent the last 2 hours messing round with my security settings and un-installing IE7 to try to get signed into hotmail (as well as incurring the wrath on my wife). Then decided to put my brain in gear and remembered reading about this forum when I was deciding whether to go with Sky or not.
One quick click to disable the privacy thingy in McAfee and hey presto I can now get in!!!!!!!!
I had even phoned Sky Tech help (I was getting desperate!) as I couldn't get into my sky e-mail account. Perhaps he should just read on here.
Interestingly through I have been using McAfee with my Tesco dial up while I waited for activation and I had the privacy thing running and everything worked fine. Any ideas why it should stop now?
