      Can I use another modem?

I posted this question along with a few other queries in another thread, but I really need an answer before I get cut off!

I am due to get activated tomorrow, but my modem and welcome pack hasn't arrived yet...great start eh?! If, as seems likely, the switchover happens without me having my modem, could I still use my old SpeedTouch USB modem?

Yes you can use another modem. Trouble is you need your user name and password and this is generated by your Sky modem (when you get it).

So with no Sky modem you're stuck. Sorry.

Surely they could give me some kind of limited, emergency username/password which would be recognised their end?

Or is this too logical for them?

doesn't work that way i'm afraid.

you could buy a sky router from ebay and use that until yours arrives then you could resell the old one

      Sorry nomy

As has been said until you get the Sky router there is nothing you or anyone else can do for you.

I know thats not what you wanted to hear but that the road SkyBB have gone down.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.
