      Angry How do you check the BT/Sky network situation?

      I was supposed to be activated on the 28th November
      I've been with NTL as a cable modem customer for several years
      I thought I'd give some leeway before I connected to sky
      I tried yesterday, friday 8th Dec, with no connection
      Eventually I discovered according to the sky tech that Guildford had been down since the 24th of November and the problem was 'ongoing'
      When I tried to escalate the tech I got nowhere
      he couldnt get any information and asked me to call back on sunday when it would be 'quieter'

      he also told me to 'keep my eye on the little green light'
      can you believe these people?

      what's a proper way to sort it?

      nobody out there?

      Rang sky on friday and they confirmed the line was not working
      they tried to find out more and were on hold to whoever
      they told me to call back in a couple of days for more information
      i called back today and spoke to an indian woman who was very difficult to understand because of her very heavy indian accent
      she did not advance me any further
      after a 15 min call ended up being very frustrated at not being elevated to a supervisor
      she refused to raise a ticket, as we are not permitted to do so for this kind of problem
      was told to call bt on 150 and tell them my dslam no, card no and port no

      what do you do with this organisation????

      thanks fibre optic, 1st bit of real information I've had
      plus net reports
      "Virtual paths: Red

      BT is reporting that some of the virtual paths at this exchange are not operating within BT Wholesale's planning guidance, although they are still operating within the product specification.

      At busy times, your ADSL connection may operate at a reduced speed, although not all customers on your exchange may be affected. You should only contact support if there is no current ETA date set.

      The ETA fix time is: 15 Dec 06
