      Help:Slow Speeds on SKY MAX

      Hello,
      I got activated on the 7th Dec and Iam on Sky Max Package.But the up down speeds are terrible...Any ideas.

      Here are my router stats.
      Connection Speed 2048 kbps 256 kbps
      Line Attenuation 9.0 db 8.5 db
      Noise Margin 30.3 db 31.0 db

      The speeds i really get are 1763 kb/s and 218 kb/s

      The local exchange is at the end of my road..

      I did a line test and it showed speeds upto 24 mbits.Ive also rebooted the rooter and tried various filters but its still the same.
      Could it be possible that Sky have put me on the Base package by mistake or will the Speed increase over time..It took Six months to sort out my Sky Sports billing mess.

      Have you tried the test socket to rule out wiring?

      Hi,
      thanx for the reply
      i only have one phone socket in my house and ive just opened it and its a standard socket..no test socket.Surely it cant be anything to do with that as my previous ISP was faster.

      A few people have reported slow speeds on the first day and then within 3 days it sorts itself out.

      Could be worth a call to Sky though just to check?

      Yeah,
      If its not faster by Monday then i wil have to call them...I think the've stuck me on the base package tho.
