Just tried this number and it works
Sadly, it's not allowed to be used from my phone and I should ring 0870 404040.

So I presume non customers can enquire about SKY for free but once your signed up, Your going to have to pay. It's nice to look after your customers isn't it.
      MAX package.

This number definitely will not let you get through to Broadband support etc.

Re: 0800 no for Sky BB Support?

the free number is not to be used. Its only given out to certain people, and even though i work there, i dont know who gets the number.

tbh, i dont see what everyones problem is with paying for the phonecalls. i mean, almost every tech support line will charge you for calling them, and many are around 50p a minute. at the most, sky is 8p a minute, and it drops to 1.5p a minute after 11pm and 4p at weekends (i think). its not a big expense. people seem to think that sitting on the phone for an hour will rack up huge bills, whereas it will cost very little if you can just wait till its cheaper. and most of the time, the calls are really short, i mean i rarely have a call thats over 10mins long, and even if it is, its not by much.

and tbh, its a small expense to get your bb fixed. its not like we are charging 85 quid to fix it, like you will have to pay if your computer is jiggered.

Re: 0800 no for Sky BB Support?

      Sorry but that's tripe

the number is in the public domain and eay to get hold of

      Freephone : 0800 234 6019 - straight through

      Geographical: 01506 831781 - get's IRV menu

your also wrong in regard to most telco's charging 50p/min for support - while i do not know about all of them i do know that Virgin Media & BT give 150 - and even AOL on their CPS service pay for the cost of their 0870 number - and you wonder WHY people go sniff out the numbers above for sky? it's not like they can't afford it if they couldn't they wouldn't run them.

oh and by the way why are you making a statement about people paying for calls or not? or more to the point why does it seem to annoy you so much? - i assume you get paid either way and as the corporate fat cats don't give a monkeys WHY should you?

      .

Never heard so much rubbish in all my life!

For starters I just called and got we will aim to answer your call in 42 mins!

I pay you for a service, I expect to get that service! When it goes wrong I expect you to fix it in a reasonable time frame. I also expect to be able to report such a fault in a reasonable time frame too! Why the hell should I have to sit up until 11 - 12 at night to report a fault cause you choose to bill me over the odds during working hours? As for it don't cost much you have not seen my BT phone bill, took your lot two months to resolve my last problem and I only got one call back in that time! All other communications were done by me calling you! 98.48p was my phone bill, over 40 was due to phone calls to sky BB tec support! People like you get on my nerves, you defend to the hilt but I bet the moment you have a problem with a company in your home and get the same treatment we get you moan and groan like the rest of us!

Thanks Pete. I have not seen these numbers posted before.

Thanks Indefatigable. I have not seen the rates posted before.
Sky should declare them, as they do look reasonable. I had
always imagined they were much more expensive.

I have only ever called Broadband Help once in 7 months.
It was a short call and Tier 3 called me back the same day and told
me of a problem at my local exchange, which was quickly fixed.
I do however, find it ironic that you get “free” calls with Sky Talk
but have to pay for calls to Sky.
