LCP is allowed to come up

yo ppl, on thursday i lost my plusnet connn and so i plugged in the sky router and all i get is this.

      - LCP down.
      - Initialize LCP.
      - LCP is allowed to come up.

rang sky, gave me a nuber n said wait 5-7 days.. hmmmm.......

      is it an exchange fault.

btw, my line on dslzone says i should get a conn of upto 7mb BUT im connecting at like between 14000 and 15500. odd no?

      update

      went on dslzone
n i get this and a bullet point

Why is there a problem on my line?

This could be any number of reasons. For example:

      - An order for ADSL is in progress.
      - The line could have an incompatible product, such as ISDN or DACS, or other phone distribution system on it.

If you do not have ADSL, and have not ordered broadband, contact BT on 150 and ask what products are on your line.

      Alright man,

I had exactly the same problem, came from plusnet and all. Basically, they gave me all the bull**** about getting back to you in week, they don't. Just get thru to a tier 3 tech person, and they can fix it for you in 2mins, i spent one week talking to people who said they'd phone back, said reset your modem, etc. When i finally got through to a tier 3 guy, he said it was a stale something or other, and he said it would take 2 mins to fix, he did it, and i was online straight away, I had been waiting 2 weeks for a 2min fix.

Do yourself a favour, and get up to tier 3 somehow.

i did ring sky and they said it was activated on thursday. never got an activation date from them, just a letter saying there was a fault and i had to wait 7 days more.

i cant check the bt order progress thing, i cant find a phone bill with my account num on it

You wont get patched thru to a tier3 person. You have to raise a ticket with tier 1 for tier 3.

Yeh, they raised a ticket with me, i waited a week, but they didn't get back, so I phoned up again, and they finally transferred me through.

You may be in for a long wait, unless you can somehow demand to get throught or find a direct number/email address for tier 3...

Worth a try, just get a ticket open if you can't get to em

You will only be passed through to Tier 3 if your ticket has been open for more than 5 days and you havn't been contacted back by them
      from here.

You could threaten to cancel, unless you are put through right away, most companies will go quite far not to lose your custom...

      Good luck anyway!
