    Different snr on different package

      Different snr on different package

      Up until last week i was on the sky max broadband and my snr on the download was 10db

      i have now changed to the base package and the snr has now gone up to 31db - i get a download of 200KB on the base package so that okay

      even though i am 800m from the exchange ius that usual for a db to change with the change of downwload package

      Bill, SNR and NM are 2 different things. It's due to the difference between ADSL1 and ADSL2+.

      Your old NM of around 10db is equivalent to an SNR of 31db.

      I'll let someone else explain the technicalities.

      @Bill

      As you are now on the Base package its a basic 2MB Adsl LLU Connection hence the change as speeds increase so does the line stats.

      @Fibre
      Those figures are mainly for ADSL2+ and mean nothing for the base package.

      Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

      200KB download is very slow though for a 2MB package, or did you miss a 0 out?
