      My present broadband provider is BT I was considering changing to Sky however when I phoned BT and requested a MAC code I was given the code however I was warned that because of the distance from where I live from the BT exchange that there willbe hidden costs and that the Sky service will not be as good as the BT service my current speed is 512 BT have told me if I upgrade with them I can get a max speed of 2MB
      thanks

      Hi Lotec

      I was warned that because of the distance from where I live from the BT exchange that there willbe hidden costs and that the Sky service will not be as good as the BT service
      As for the hidden costs - that is pants - dont believe them. Unless you need to pay for a connection charge, but that is hardly hidden.

      As for the Sky service will not be as good, I would beg to differ, as long as you do not want a 100% guarantee that the email will work.

      my current speed is 512 BT have told me if I upgrade with them I can get a max speed of 2MB
      Whatever BT give you you should get the same on Sky if not better, so if the best BT can give you is 2mb I would bet a fiver you could get that from Sky.

      However that all depends on your line quality etc.

      My advice, go for it, save yourself loads of money and if you need any help ask me or anyone else on Skyuser

      @lotech

      You are not the first person to be told that and you will not be the last, if you want to go to SkyBB then the choice is all yours, ignor BT or anyone else's if you do it good luck.

      Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.
