Phone calls from Sky requesting MAC access

      Hi Everyone

Today my sister-in-law told me that she had a phone call from Sky requesting her MAC access number, as she didn’t have a clue what they were on about and said she didn’t know & they would have to ring back.
The strange thing was it came from a mobile phone and why would they want the access number. Sounds a bit fishy to me as wouldn’t that allow whom ever has the Mac number, access, compromising security.

Anyone heard or knows anything about it
      Cheers
      Fezz

we would not call with a mobile but sometimes the mac is required for our systems to set your order as done.

the engineer may have asked for it and using a mobile, if in doubt dont give it out. just call up and supply it over the phone.

      Welcome to the site Fezz

I agree with theg33k said if in doubt dont give it out.

I would get her to call SkyBB with it asap and not give it out to anyone any other way.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.
