      Strange sync

For some reason my connection dropped this afternoon and when i came home i checked my router stats to find the following:
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8096 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 15.5 db 17.5 db
Noise Margin 13.9 db 14.0 db

This a concern for me as im on the max package and ive always sync at the usual 15323. Can anyone shed a light on this, also ive noticed my line attenuation has nearly halved. Unless my exchange has moved 1/2 a mile closer to my house i find this strange.

Could you reset your router "pinhole at the back" That will clear the routers 15.5db glitch!
Thats what might be effecting your sync stats!

Also arent they the same for Mid?

A basic reset should loose the 15.5 without losing your settings!

I've had exactly the same today, suddenly started synching at 8096 for no apparent reason.

Could be too many now on the exchanges so they're cappng us without telling?

I've already mailed their tech support email address. I'll post any reply.

Well the 15.5 is a known glitch and will at somepoint dissapear as quickly as it appeared!

As for the drop in stats it could well be that you have been capped! I would get on to SKy to try and confirm!
